The Emerald Theatre

February 13, 2017

Today I am sharing a fun experience I had with one of my friends during my first photoshoot for the blog! We had found this cute little theatre and as we were taking pictures in front of it, these two people that were working there asked us if we would like to take some pictures inside. I thought it would be a unique and fun opportunity to take some pictures inside an old theatre that I had never been in before. This theatre had been closed for a while, and they were starting to fix it up to hold a fundraiser there the next day!

As soon as I saw this place down the street from where we were taking pictures, I knew right away that I wanted to get some photos in front of it! As you can see here, I am wearing a gray military style jacket along with jeans and a pink MK purse. I fell in love with this jacket as soon as I saw it at Macy’s! Unfortunately, this one is sold out but I will link some similar ones for you. This outfit is great for a casual day when it’s a little cooler, as the jacket is very warm. You could also dress up this jacket by wearing it with a pretty lace skirt for more dressy occasions.

We LOVED the balcony in the theatre! It was gorgeous with the gold detailing. As I said before, this theatre had been closed for a while, so it is not going to be in the absolute best condition, but it was such a fun experience! Being there while no one else was except for the workers was so fun! We were pretty much squealing with excitement the whole time we were there!

It was hard to get good lighting in some of the photos, as it was dark in the theatre. This was taken from the second story overlooking the main level. I can tell a lot of work went into the detailing of this theatre when it was built!

I hope to be able to come to this theatre again soon for a production they will be putting on! I love plays and fine arts, and I will jump at any excuse to wear a fancy dress! I’m so glad we were there at the right time to get invited inside!

Thanks so much for reading! I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Emily

It’s hard to move past things that hurt so deeply. I hope you will find peace in this post, because I understand how difficult letting go can be.

In other news, I’m feeling so pampered after meeting up with a friend to get a mani/pedi. I don’t do it often, but I just love getting my nails done. Having pretty nails makes me feel so confident. What have you done recently that makes you feel confident?
I was published in a national magazine! I have bee I was published in a national magazine! I have been keeping it a little secret from Instagram for a couple days, but one of my chalk paint projects was published in the June/July issue of @countrywomanmagazine! I am so grateful to have this space to share my ideas and designs, and to you all who support me along the way. You can find the magazine at places like Barnes and Noble, Target, Walmart, etc... all throughout the US and Canada. I can’t wait for you to read it! ❤️
One of my absolute favorite aspects of blogging ha One of my absolute favorite aspects of blogging has to be building relationships with brands that I have grown to love. @coppercure is one of my favorite shops for my love of copper and they were so generous to gift me with this pitcher. The quality is outstanding and it looks beautiful. I threw together a copper styling guide on the blog today and would love for you to check it out! The link is in my bio. ❤️
