A Pop of Spring

March 13, 2017

I hope you all had a great weekend! I recently had a small photoshoot and wanted to share with you all this cute spring look. I love lace, and this skirt is one of my favorite items in my closet. One thing I love about this skirt is that I can wear it all year long! In the spring/summer, I wear this lace skirt with jean jackets, floral scarfs, and light sweaters. During the fall/winter, I wear it with tights, riding boots, and blazers. I love how versatile it is!

For this look, I paired this skirt with one of my favorite jean jackets, a simple black top, a turquoise crystal necklace, a white Michael Kors purse, and some black and cream bow flats. Jean jackets are a fashion staple of mine and I love to style them different ways! I’m not a big fan of denim on denim, so I like to find ways to wear jean jackets without pairing them with jeans.

Shop here: Jean jacket (Similar, on sale!) // Skirt (Similar) // Necklace (Similar) // Shoes (Similar) // Purse (On sale!)

This past Saturday, I went to a tea house with a sweet friend. I thought this would be a cute outfit to wear as it isn’t too fancy, but elegant enough for tea. We also went to this cute downtown area to shop and take some pictures! We bought some fresh flowers, and I thought these ones were gorgeous! Pink roses are my favorite, but I fell in love with the color of these! I’m also still on the hunt for peonies, so if you’re a local follower of my blog and know where to find them, please let me know!

If you can’t tell from my posts, I am SO ready for Spring, but it just snowed again today. 🙄 Thankfully, I’m leaving for Texas tomorrow so I will have some warm weather for a few days! I will be sharing photos of my trip on my IG and blog, and I will also keep you updated on my Insta stories! I hope you all have a great week!

Emily

To the girl that can’t let it go, I hear you. I To the girl that can’t let it go, I hear you. I wrote a new blog post just for you, up on prettyinplaids.com now. ❤️ Forgiveness is hard. It’s hard to move past things that hurt so deeply. I hope you will find peace in this post, because I understand how difficult letting go can be.

In other news, I’m feeling so pampered after meeting up with a friend to get a mani/pedi. I don’t do it often, but I just love getting my nails done. Having pretty nails makes me feel so confident. What have you done recently that makes you feel confident?
I was published in a national magazine! I have bee I was published in a national magazine! I have been keeping it a little secret from Instagram for a couple days, but one of my chalk paint projects was published in the June/July issue of @countrywomanmagazine! This is such an honor for me. I have dreamed of this moment and I still can’t believe it actually happened. I wrote a whole blog post that’s live now, so head to the link in my bio to read it! I am so grateful to have this space to share my ideas and designs, and to you all who support me along the way. You can find the magazine at places like Barnes and Noble, Target, Walmart, etc... all throughout the US and Canada. I can’t wait for you to read it! ❤️
One of my absolute favorite aspects of blogging ha One of my absolute favorite aspects of blogging has to be building relationships with brands that I have grown to love. @coppercure is one of my favorite shops for my love of copper and they were so generous to gift me with this pitcher. The quality is outstanding and it looks beautiful. I threw together a copper styling guide on the blog today and would love for you to check it out! The link is in my bio. ❤️
