Room Update Part 1

September 23, 2017

Hope you all are having a great weekend! I’ve been busy putting my room back together and redecorating. In this post, I’m going to be sharing a few updates of my bedroom. I’ll start with the paint before and after photos. My room used to be a light gray, but I choose a light cream color to soften in up. I don’t like to use white paint on walls because I think it’s so cold, so cream was the perfect balance of light and airy with some added warmth.

My boyfriend did an amazing job painting and I’m really loving the new color! I decided to go with the Magnolia Home paint line by Joanna Gaines. I chose this paint not only because I love Magnolia, but because it is such a great quality paint. This paint has a built in primer in it and there are also so many gorgeous colors to choose from. I chose Carter Crème which is the perfect light cream shade. Two coats were needed because the gray was obviously darker than the new paint, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a new paint line to use. Magnolia Home paint is only available at certain Ace Hardware stores and at Magnolia Market. I would recommend checking your local Ace store to see if they carry it, or if you look on the paint website, there is a list of the Ace stores that carry it.

I also got new curtains up this weekend. All I used was a simple painters drop cloth and drapery rings. It’s such an inexpensive DIY project! My mom made some for herself a while ago so she helped me make mine as well. Just measure your wall and get the right size drop cloth, then cut down the middle to make two sides and fold the top over! I’m not a fan of the puddling curtain trend, so she just folded the top enough so that they dropped properly.

I hope you enjoyed the post! I’m so excited to share more room updates with you!

Emily

It’s hard to move past things that hurt so deeply. I hope you will find peace in this post, because I understand how difficult letting go can be.

In other news, I’m feeling so pampered after meeting up with a friend to get a mani/pedi. I don’t do it often, but I just love getting my nails done. Having pretty nails makes me feel so confident. What have you done recently that makes you feel confident?
I was published in a national magazine! I have bee I was published in a national magazine! I have been keeping it a little secret from Instagram for a couple days, but one of my chalk paint projects was published in the June/July issue of @countrywomanmagazine! One of my absolute favorite aspects of blogging ha One of my absolute favorite aspects of blogging has to be building relationships with brands that I have grown to love. @coppercure is one of my favorite shops for my love of copper and they were so generous to gift me with this pitcher. The quality is outstanding and it looks beautiful. I threw together a copper styling guide on the blog today and would love for you to check it out! The link is in my bio. ❤️
