Room Update Part 2

October 15, 2017

Hope you all had a great weekend, I’m excited for this upcoming week because I have a lot of things planned. Fall cider mill trips, fall decor, and working on some upcoming content for the blog are all on the agenda. I’m going to be giving another little update about my bedroom today. I’ve been so busy with work, family coming in, and life in general that I haven’t had much time to focus on getting it fully decorated! I’m really hoping to get a lot done this week. It seems like every time I go to do something, I just keep getting stuck on how I want to decorate it. I really try to make my decor unique and stand out from everything on Pinterest, and sometimes it can be hard to come up with totally different things ALL the time! I have my shelving picked out for the wall and I can’t wait to get them up and show you how unique they are! What I am showing you today is what I have done and what I plan to have finished very soon. I changed up the furniture layout today and I think I’m gonna stick with it for now.

I already showed you my clock on this wall in my last bedroom update post, and I’m still loving it here. I’m thinking about putting the two shelves right above the ladder shown in the pictures. Depending on how I like them, if they don’t fit well there, I will put them on the wall across from my bed.

I’m also going to be putting this vintage chippy fence right above my nightstand. I got this a few weeks ago at the vintage mercantile market I told you about and I’m in love with it. I had been looking for a chippy fence and this was actually the first thing I bought at the market. I love the character it gives to the space. Chippy paint is totally my thing so I love to get as many pieces as I can possibly get my hands on.

Moving on to the dresser, I garbage picked these two chair backs a few weeks ago. If you watch my Instagram stories, you’ll see the treasures that I find garbage picking! I actually haven’t been out in a while, but I have a few really cool pieces that I will be refinishing soon! I love these two pieces and I immediately knew I wanted them for my wall. The color was perfect for me already, so all I did was clean them with some wood cleaner and they were all set. I want these to go on either side of the dresser mirror, I think that will add a lot of rustic character to the space. I’m so excited to see how everything turns out!

That’s all I have for today. Since the furniture has all been moved around again, I think it will be a lot easier to put things where I want them. I’m still learning so much about interior design, but I’m really loving how everything is turning out so far. I hope you all have a great week, I’ll keep you posted on more room updates soon. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Emily

To the girl that can’t let it go, I hear you. I To the girl that can’t let it go, I hear you. I wrote a new blog post just for you, up on prettyinplaids.com now. ❤️ Forgiveness is hard. It’s hard to move past things that hurt so deeply. I hope you will find peace in this post, because I understand how difficult letting go can be.

In other news, I’m feeling so pampered after meeting up with a friend to get a mani/pedi. I don’t do it often, but I just love getting my nails done. Having pretty nails makes me feel so confident. What have you done recently that makes you feel confident?
I was published in a national magazine! I have bee I was published in a national magazine! I have been keeping it a little secret from Instagram for a couple days, but one of my chalk paint projects was published in the June/July issue of @countrywomanmagazine! This is such an honor for me. I have dreamed of this moment and I still can’t believe it actually happened. I wrote a whole blog post that’s live now, so head to the link in my bio to read it! I am so grateful to have this space to share my ideas and designs, and to you all who support me along the way. You can find the magazine at places like Barnes and Noble, Target, Walmart, etc... all throughout the US and Canada. I can’t wait for you to read it! ❤️
One of my absolute favorite aspects of blogging ha One of my absolute favorite aspects of blogging has to be building relationships with brands that I have grown to love. @coppercure is one of my favorite shops for my love of copper and they were so generous to gift me with this pitcher. The quality is outstanding and it looks beautiful. I threw together a copper styling guide on the blog today and would love for you to check it out! The link is in my bio. ❤️
