Mad about Plaid

October 22, 2017

This past week I took a trip to the cider mill, finally! I had been trying to find the time to go for a while, but the weather always got in the way. I’m going to be sharing with you one of my favorite fall looks that I can’t get enough of. I get so many compliments on this plaid scarf and I love to incorporate it into different outfits. The colors go with so many different things so it’s easy to make different looks with it.

I have so many plaid scarfs for fall and winter and my collection keeps growing, but I think this is one of my favorites. With this look, I paired the scarf with a simple bell-sleeved top. I wanted the scarf to be the main focus of the outfit, so I didn’t want to wear a bright colored shirt with it. The only detail on this white top is the adorable bell-sleeves, which I love.

I also wore my ripped jeans that I have talked about in a previous post, along with my favorite brown riding boots from G by Guess. I got these boots about two years ago and they are still in great shape. They are a bit expensive, but they last so long so I think it’s worth it. I’ve actually found a very similar pair at a reasonable price the I will link below. If you do go with a more expensive option, they are worth it because they will last a long time so you won’t have to go out and buy them every year.

Even though this is just a simple casual look, it’s perfect for fall. I like to be comfortable, so every outfit doesn’t have to be fancy. I don’t like to carry around a big purse with me all the time, so small wristlets are my best friend for that reason. They’re perfect to fit my money and phone if that’s all I need with me at the time.

Shop the look: Similar jeans // Similar top // Similar boots // Scarf ~ such a great price!

I’m loving all of the fall fashion, just wishing it would get a little cooler where I live so I’m not dying when I step outside in a sweater! I’ll hopefully have some more fall looks up soon! And thanks, Tara, for taking my outfit photos. ❤️

Emily

In other news, I’m feeling so pampered after meeting up with a friend to get a mani/pedi. I don’t do it often, but I just love getting my nails done. Having pretty nails makes me feel so confident. What have you done recently that makes you feel confident?
I was published in a national magazine! I have bee I was published in a national magazine! I have been keeping it a little secret from Instagram for a couple days, but one of my chalk paint projects was published in the June/July issue of @countrywomanmagazine! This is such an honor for me. I have dreamed of this moment and I still can’t believe it actually happened. I wrote a whole blog post that’s live now, so head to the link in my bio to read it! I am so grateful to have this space to share my ideas and designs, and to you all who support me along the way. You can find the magazine at places like Barnes and Noble, Target, Walmart, etc... all throughout the US and Canada. I can’t wait for you to read it! ❤️
One of my absolute favorite aspects of blogging ha One of my absolute favorite aspects of blogging has to be building relationships with brands that I have grown to love. @coppercure is one of my favorite shops for my love of copper and they were so generous to gift me with this pitcher. The quality is outstanding and it looks beautiful. I threw together a copper styling guide on the blog today and would love for you to check it out! The link is in my bio. ❤️
