Thanksgiving Outfit Guide

November 20, 2017

It’s almost Thanksgiving! I love this time of year so much! I usually dress up a little bit for Thanksgiving, but nothing too fancy since I’m usually at home or at a friend/family’s house. This outfit guide will be pretty simple, with one example of a dressier outfit and one casual outfit. Jeans are my go-to on Thanksgiving just because you can dress them up or down.

Casual Outfit Guide

  • Jeans work well with everything. To dress them up just a little bit, pair them with a nice sweater or blazer. I’ll pair a sweater with a light scarf or a statement necklace.
  • I paired the gray blazer shown below with a lace top and skinny jeans. It’s the perfect balance of casual and elegant.
  • Casual dresses are also great for the holidays because they’re so comfortable. Wear a simple dress with a blanket scarf or statement necklace to complete the look.

Dressier Outfit Guide

One Thanksgiving a few years ago, my whole family went to a banquet hall for dinner, so I dressed up a little more than usual. I wore a white dress with black heels for a classic look.

  • Fancy dresses are the main way I dress up fro any occasion. I usually wear fancier dresses with heels and a coordinating clutch.
  • Blazers and dress pants are also a great way to dress up a little bit. Not to mention, the dress pants that I have are so comfortable, sometimes I would rather wear them than jeans. Coordinate your blazer and dress pants and wear a nice button down and statement necklace to complete this look.
  • Blazers with a dressier skirt are also a great option. An example of this outfit is shown below. I paired my favorite burgundy blazer with a lace skirt, tights, heels, and a pearl statement necklace.

Shop the looks: Similar Gray blazer // Similar Lace top // Similar Jeans (on sale for $30) // Similar Burgundy blazer // Pearl necklace // Similar Lace skirt // Similar Black lace heels

Hope this helped if you were looking for some Thanksgiving outfit inspiration! I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your families.

Emily

To the girl that can’t let it go, I hear you. I To the girl that can’t let it go, I hear you. I wrote a new blog post just for you, up on prettyinplaids.com now. ❤️ Forgiveness is hard. It’s hard to move past things that hurt so deeply. I hope you will find peace in this post, because I understand how difficult letting go can be.

In other news, I’m feeling so pampered after meeting up with a friend to get a mani/pedi. I don’t do it often, but I just love getting my nails done. Having pretty nails makes me feel so confident. What have you done recently that makes you feel confident?
I was published in a national magazine! I have bee I was published in a national magazine! I have been keeping it a little secret from Instagram for a couple days, but one of my chalk paint projects was published in the June/July issue of @countrywomanmagazine! This is such an honor for me. I have dreamed of this moment and I still can’t believe it actually happened. I wrote a whole blog post that’s live now, so head to the link in my bio to read it! I am so grateful to have this space to share my ideas and designs, and to you all who support me along the way. You can find the magazine at places like Barnes and Noble, Target, Walmart, etc... all throughout the US and Canada. I can’t wait for you to read it! ❤️
One of my absolute favorite aspects of blogging ha One of my absolute favorite aspects of blogging has to be building relationships with brands that I have grown to love. @coppercure is one of my favorite shops for my love of copper and they were so generous to gift me with this pitcher. The quality is outstanding and it looks beautiful. I threw together a copper styling guide on the blog today and would love for you to check it out! The link is in my bio. ❤️
