Black Lace & Red

December 10, 2017

This is the first holiday look I’ve blogged about and it’s one of my favorites. I love black lace and this dress is perfect for Christmas parties or other holiday events. I also paired this dress with black heels and a red coat since I love to wear red around Christmas.

I usually only wear red around Christmas, and since it’s such a bold color, it is important to know how to wear it. You don’t want to look too flashy, so when wearing a bright color, try to pair it with a neutral as well for some balance. Black and white are two great options to pair with a bright red.

I also used a cream purse to complete the look. I wanted to use a color other than black, so cream was the perfect neutral option. When choosing a bag to wear with an outfit, pick a color that would complement the main color scheme well. In the summer, I like to wear pops of bright colors, and in the winter, I like to complement my outfits with simple neutrals if my outfit is bright, and brights if my outfit is neutral.

Black is always a great way to go when shopping for a dress. It goes with everything, so it’s easy to find other things to match with it. There are so many different ways to wear this dress, but my favorite is with black tights and heels. The “all black” look makes it easy to add a pop of color, such as with the red coat.

I’ll be posting more holiday outfits within the next couple of weeks. Hope you are all having a great Sunday!

It’s hard to move past things that hurt so deeply. I hope you will find peace in this post, because I understand how difficult letting go can be.

In other news, I’m feeling so pampered after meeting up with a friend to get a mani/pedi. I don’t do it often, but I just love getting my nails done. Having pretty nails makes me feel so confident. What have you done recently that makes you feel confident?
I was published in a national magazine! I have bee I was published in a national magazine! I have been keeping it a little secret from Instagram for a couple days, but one of my chalk paint projects was published in the June/July issue of @countrywomanmagazine! One of my absolute favorite aspects of blogging ha One of my absolute favorite aspects of blogging has to be building relationships with brands that I have grown to love. @coppercure is one of my favorite shops for my love of copper and they were so generous to gift me with this pitcher. The quality is outstanding and it looks beautiful. I threw together a copper styling guide on the blog today and would love for you to check it out! The link is in my bio. ❤️
