Two Ways to Wear a Plaid Flannel

December 29, 2017

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! I just got home last night and I’m so exhausted from traveling for 10 hours straight. This post is going to show how I wear flannel two different ways, dressed up and casual. The dressed up version is inspired by one of my favorite style bloggers, Annie fromĀ Stylish Petite.Ā She has some of the cutest outfits and I love to get fashion inspiration from her. These two looks are great for the holiday season, but I will still wear plaid flannel even in the winter months after Christmas.

This tulle skirt in burgundy is currently out of stock, but it is available in a variety of other colors,Ā here. I loved how it looked paired with this plaid flannel. My flannel is from A&F a few years ago, but a similar option can be foundĀ here. This look is great for any special occasion where you want to dress up a little, church, or even just because.

I also wore cream flats with a black bow to tie in the look. Tulle is also so fun to wear! I love this outfit for the winter months and love that the pieces in are so versatile so I can wear them with many other things.

The next way I like to wear a flannel shirt is a little more casual, with jeans and a puffy vest. I wear this vest all the time. Shop a similar vest hereĀ andĀ here.Ā You can wear the puffy vest with basically any type of sweater or button down shirt you want, and it looks great paired with jeans. Flannels are also so versatile, sometimes I’ll even wear them with black leggings and it will still look cute.

Ugg boots are a staple of mine during the winter months. When my feet are cold, I’m miserable, and these keep me so warm! Shop my exact onesĀ here.

This outfit is not only cute, but also really comfortable. Plaid is my go-to a lot of the time, so I like to incorporate it into my outfits a lot. I hope you enjoyed this post and have a great start into 2018!

Emily

It’s hard to move past things that hurt so deeply. I hope you will find peace in this post, because I understand how difficult letting go can be.

In other news, I’m feeling so pampered after meeting up with a friend to get a mani/pedi. I don’t do it often, but I just love getting my nails done. Having pretty nails makes me feel so confident. What have you done recently that makes you feel confident?
I was published in a national magazine! I have bee I was published in a national magazine! I have been keeping it a little secret from Instagram for a couple days, but one of my chalk paint projects was published in the June/July issue of @countrywomanmagazine! This is such an honor for me. I have dreamed of this moment and I still can’t believe it actually happened. I wrote a whole blog post that’s live now, so head to the link in my bio to read it! I am so grateful to have this space to share my ideas and designs, and to you all who support me along the way.
