Most of my blog posts have been about painting and decor lately, but I promise that I’m also working on some style posts as well. I’m hoping to have some up very soon because as much as I love to decorate, cute clothes are also very important to me! Today, I’m going to be sharing a new chippy chair that I just got along with some summer decorating tips. If you’ve been following my blog for a while, then you know that I love to use white chippy painted things in my decorating. I was so excited when the lady at the garage sale gave this chair away for free! I am always on the hunt for vintage pieces with chippy paint so this was a great find.
I love the way that this chair looks in front of my gray mora clock. I also styled it was a cream throw, throw pillow, and an olive tree. This tree looks great with neutral farmhouse decor because it gives a pop of color amongst all of the neutral tones. This one is from Kirkland’s, but there are many more out there to choose from. White and cream throws are some of my favorite to decorate with, and I find many of them at Homegoods and Tjmaxx. They blend well with your farmhouse decor and also add some texture to your space, which I love. This throw pillow is also one of my favorites. I might have a slight obsession with throw pillows, but hey, I switch them out for every season! I just really loved the look of this one after seeing Liz Marie Galvan post about it. When I realized it was at H&M for only $10, I ordered it right away. It’s not available anymore but I have linked a similar style that is actually cheaper, only $5.99! You can find it here.
Now onto some summer decorating tips. Summer is definitely not my favorite season to decorate for, but these tips help me to make the best out of the decor that I have and how to make my space look cute.
- Greens. So I guess this wouldn’t be just a summer tip because I use greens all year round. They really complete your vignettes and make everything look so much more put together.
- Seed Packets. These look so cute added to summer decor and I also use them for spring and fall as well. Tuck them into your vignettes to finish off the look.
- Bright and Airy. I like to make my summer decor very bright and airy. I use a lot of black and white and accent with greens and pops of other colors from flowers.
- Flower Market Accents/Faux Flowers. There are so many items that say “Flower Market” that look really cute with summer decor. These really make your decor look summery and ready for the season.
- Vintage Watering Cans. You can’t go wrong with vintage and galvanized metal. I love the look and they add character and texture to your space.
Hope you enjoyed the vignette and these simple decorating tips! I’ve still been pretty busy painting, so I’m sure I’ll have more painting posts up soon!
