A Welcoming Easter Bench

April 16, 2019

Happy Tuesday, friends! I haven’t posted a new vignette in a while and I thought this would be perfect to share for Easter. I won this bunny pillow in an Instagram giveaway last year and I just think it is so cute! Perfect for the Easter and Spring season too. I put this bench decor together this afternoon because it was such a nice overcast day, which is absolutely perfect for photos! I loved the added texture of the knit pillow and the creamy tones. In this post, I am going to be sharing how to create charming outdoor decor that is both stylish and versatile.

What to start with

You can really start with anything, but I love to add pillows to my outdoor decor. Picnic tables and bistro sets look really cute with some added warmth from pillows and throws. Of course, there are several outdoor pillow options to choose from. These are not outdoor pillows shown here, but I would just bring them in the house when I’m not outside. You can also protect them with special products if you really wanted them to stay outside. I’ve listed several items and ideas that can get you started on creating a beautiful backyard.

  • Pillows
  • Throws
  • Table settings
  • Patio furniture and Cushions
  • Picnic Tables
  • Bistro Tables

These items and ideas will get you started on what to decorate for and how to decorate. I love to put outdoor table settings together, even if it’s just a picnic setting or something small. Every element can be beautiful and it can make planning events that much more fun for you!

It is finally starting to get a little warmer out, at least for now. The warm weather comes in waves but I am loving being able to spend some more time outside. When I’m outside, I want to bring my decorating there too and creating and styling outdoor decor is very simple because you can use some of the things that you already have. These pillows add some texture and coziness to the patio and I love how they look for Spring. I loved putting this bench vignette together and thought it was the perfect addition to some outdoor decor.

How to style

Simply put, I get inspiration from lots of different places. I knew that I wanted to use these pillows and combined together, they matched well. I added a creamy white throw to add some more texture and I love how it looks. Of course, a lot of people use throws and pillows in their decorating, but I try to make my style my own and use pillows that I love. I have listed some key points to keep in mind when styling.

  • Use what you love
  • Get inspired, but make it your own
  • Find a focal point, then work around it
  • Try to think outside of the box
  • Get creative

These tips help me when I am styling not just outdoor decor, but also indoor decor as well. I love to get inspired by other women, cute shops, or just by looking through Pinterest or magazines.

Hopefully this post gave you some inspiration on how to create some simple outdoor spring decor. Let me know what you think in the comments! I would love to see how you decorate your backyard!

These look great Emily! I think you do a great job of helping readers visualize what you are talking about by posting high quality images of your creations. I think that helping people know how to do this is a cool thing to do and can even be fun. A great thing about this style is that if you are resourceful and patient, it won’t break the budget. Great post!

WOW! this is so cute and cool. Your blog is also amazing! it is professionally done. How long have you blogging? Now I want a bunny pillow. The cool thing about this is that its not that costly, but it looks costly! I enjoyed reading your blog and the details your put into it. Very inspiring and cute! Also using pillows that you love makes it more comfy and snug. Most of the time when I get invited to friends house and they have cute decorations I am afraid to mess things up so I fell at edge the whole time I am there. Over all this is awesome!
