An Extraordinary Autumn

October 1, 2020

Happy October! Anyone that knows me knows that I absolutely adore the fall season. I mean, it’s not that hard to figure out when I have more pumpkins, fall plaid blankets, and fall decorations to count. I buy more fall decorations every year, even though I tell myself every season that I won’t need to buy anymore next year because I already have enough. Yeah, okay.

What makes autumn so extraordinary? For me, the season of autumn is full of new beginnings. I love the coziness, family time, and overall love that this season brings. I’m an October baby, so my love of the month of October first stemmed from my birthday. Yes, I am that person that absolutely loves their birthday. I remind my family and friends on October 1st that it is my birthday month, and then proceed to remind them until my birthday actually arrives. Basically, a whole month of me proclaiming my love for October and my birth month. The season of fall is so cozy and the fall foliage is one of my favorite things to see. Not kidding, orange and yellow leaves make me happier than most people. Just give me some colorful leaves, a camera, and some Starbucks and I’m perfectly content.

I went to Williams-Sonoma recently and found the cutest glass jars with cinnamon and mulling spices. There is just something about Williams-Sonoma and Pottery Barn in the fall and holiday season that is so festive and I just love it. I am definitely thinking of becoming a food blogger, it’s just so fun. Every time I visit Williams-Sonoma, I dream of all the things I want to bake and how I want my dream kitchen to look. Williams-Sonoma really holds nothing back when it comes to the aesthetic of their products. I love them, and yes I did by these for decoration purposes only. No shame.

I can’t wait to start baking all the fall things and make hot apple cider and hot cocoa. I can’t wait to show you all of the fall ideas I have soon! There will definitely be some cider mill trips in my near future. Do you love fall as much as I do? I would love to know what your favorite fall traditions are! For me, cider mill trips, pumpkin picking, plaid on plaid, Gilmore Girls, fall decorating, fall baking, and family time are just a few of my favorite things to experience in the fall. I would love to know what you love about it too!

To the girl that can’t let it go, I hear you. I To the girl that can’t let it go, I hear you. I wrote a new blog post just for you, up on prettyinplaids.com now. ❤️ Forgiveness is hard. It’s hard to move past things that hurt so deeply. I hope you will find peace in this post, because I understand how difficult letting go can be.

In other news, I’m feeling so pampered after meeting up with a friend to get a mani/pedi. I don’t do it often, but I just love getting my nails done. Having pretty nails makes me feel so confident. What have you done recently that makes you feel confident?
I was published in a national magazine! I have bee I was published in a national magazine! I have been keeping it a little secret from Instagram for a couple days, but one of my chalk paint projects was published in the June/July issue of @countrywomanmagazine! This is such an honor for me. I have dreamed of this moment and I still can’t believe it actually happened. I wrote a whole blog post that’s live now, so head to the link in my bio to read it! I am so grateful to have this space to share my ideas and designs, and to you all who support me along the way. You can find the magazine at places like Barnes and Noble, Target, Walmart, etc... all throughout the US and Canada. I can’t wait for you to read it! ❤️
One of my absolute favorite aspects of blogging ha One of my absolute favorite aspects of blogging has to be building relationships with brands that I have grown to love. @coppercure is one of my favorite shops for my love of copper and they were so generous to gift me with this pitcher. The quality is outstanding and it looks beautiful. I threw together a copper styling guide on the blog today and would love for you to check it out! The link is in my bio. ❤️
